Things I love about collegePosted: November 15, 2009
I haven’t made a list in a while. I like lists.
I’ve always liked to read everything. I will read every word on a cereal box before I finish breakfast. And every time I walk somewhere there’s something to read every step of the way. (I’m looking at you, Judgement Committee. Let’s be BFFs.)
Every day I see a squirrel, a rabbit, or the occasional raccoon or possum. I don’t know why this makes me so happy, but it does.
3. Every meal is a party.
Except breakfast, which is just as tired and boring as it’s always been.
4. Talented people
I like to listen to people practicing their music in the dorms. Except when it’s midnight and I’m trying to go to bed and they continue playing the same seven notes over and over and over again.
I may get 100 emails a day, but when there’s an hours long battle about the remastered version of Star Wars going on, I just feel so at home. Plus, the youtube links involved are a treasure drove. (Uh…dog massage anyone?) And I love inventing middle names to put in quotation marks.
6. There is ALWAYS someone on Facebook.
7. When I talk to an acquaintance-friend and they say “dude, I saw your rap.” (which is a corollary to Facebook)
8. Hot cookie bar.
Even when it makes me feel sick for the next 27 hours. Even if I rejected the “Hot Cookie Bar is better than sex” facebook group. Because I really don’t like how many facebook groups I’m being pressured to join.
9. When my roommate and I have the same sleep schedule.
The rare times when we go to bed at the same time and don’t have to do the bumbling around in the dark trying to find a toothbrush are awesome. It’s even better when we have simultaneous spontaneous napping.
I like that it’s not rare that coming home on a Saturday night is more exciting than going out on a Saturday night. It bodes well for winter.
